Could the 2017 MacBook handle the external GPU that Apple is selling?

I can’t find anything to state that it won’t. From what I gather, as long as you’re running macOS Sierra and have a thunderbolt port, you’re good to go, but that’s from what *I* gather. There could be specific specs associated with using the external GPU that I’m unaware of.

I have a late 2013 15" rMBP with the GPU inside. I would think that this wouldn't work on mine would it? I think this is for MacBooks that don't have a GPU. Am I right?

Sorry. I looked on apple's app and this wasn't what I thought it was. I was thinking it was a second graphics card for a MacBook. Again my apologies.
