The only good deal on Windows 8.1 I can think of is if Microsoft paid ME to put it on my machine... ;)

In all seriousness though, it looks like you need Boot Camp 5 and Mountain Lion 10.8.3 to install Windows 8.1. Is that what you have?

Mountain Lion? LOL! Because I'm pretty sure it works with Mavericks and soon Yosemite. Windows 8.1 is what I'm trying to put on boot camp. This is for a 15 inch MacBook pro retina.

Also, 64bit is fine, right?

I'm glad I amuse you; it gives me a warm, fuzzy glow inside. :)

Of course, I meant that it requires a minimum of the specs I posted, not that it only requires the specs I posted. Sorry for the confusion. And yes, 64 bit is fine.

If you can buy an hour or so on a windows machine you can use the .exe installer, and once the download has completed there is an option to create a bootable USB memory stick or a DVD.
