icloud backup

I have whatsapp set for auto backup 1 time per month at the end of the month.

If on the 15th I clear a chat history is it gone and will not go to icloud or is it only gone from view but still saved and ready for upload to icloud at the end of the month??

If you perform an iCloud back up after you delete the chat, it'll be gone. If you toggle off "auto iCloud back up" before it backs up again, and you don't manually back up, then it should be there.
It should say when the last back up occurred.

One more thing. If it backs up every month, does that mean on the icloud their is separate fles for each month or every time a backup is uploaded it merges with the backup already in the icloud account?

I have no idea how WhatsApp backs up. What I referred to was your phone. But this may help.

looks like whatsapp does daily backups on the phone and it is saved for 7 days. So they can be accessed and previewed using a software such [redacted] will test this.
