Default Will iPhone play .wma format ringtones?

I did a forum search and did not find anything, so I started a thread here. Please forgive me if it is available somewhere and I missed it.

I have some ringtones that are .wma format. I have friends who have iPhones. If I send those .wma format ringtones via MMS, will my friends be able to play the ringtones on their iPhones?

    Thanks in advance.

    No.

They need to be converted to m4r and imported via iTunes.

I do not have iTunes. If I convert the format to m4r and then send them, will that work?

I've not found a way... as far as I know and have experienced, you need to use iTunes... unless you purchase a ringtone from Apple.

Thanks. That would work. I could convert the format, send the ringtones as an email attachment, and then my friends could import them into iTunes on their PCs.
