How do you get ringtones for your iPhone?

How do you get custom ringtones for your iPhone?
Buy from iTunes store or use garageband or use 3-party software?

Man, that first choice is whacked. I hope nobody pays for ringtones on an iPhone.

I generally make em the old fashion way or download them off zedge. I can't see myself paying for 3rd party software to do something so menial.

Anyone can recommend me a good ringtone/MP3 editor? I looking at trimming MP3 myself then manually upload to iPhone using iTunes. I used to use Nero WaveEditor (part of Nero 8 Lite) but it seems to have issues running on Windows 7

Well, of course nobody wants to pay for ringtones on an iPhone, but sometimes you may have no choice.
