Store really good quality movies on iPhone for watching on my HD tv.

I mainly use my iPhones capacity for storing movies to watch on my TV. The only way to store them that I know of is to use handbrake to format them for the iPhone and then drag them into iTunes. This makes the movies not look their best when watched on my big tv. Is there a better way of storing movies so they wont loose quality?
