facebook chat, for iPAD APP PROBLEM. PLEASEE HELP

So im a little new to the whole iPad stuff. I have installed the facebook app for the ipad. All is wonderful except for one thing? When im on campus (UNC-Charlotte) browsing around on facebook the Chat feature will not work. it continues to say LOADING and nothing else? WHY IS THIS HAPPENING AND IS THERE A SOLUTION
