What say you about Apple Care + vs Carrier insurance?

I have always had Apple Care+ (since the iPhone 3GS.) However, I dropped my 6+ on the garage floor and cracked the shield. which I later replaced. Would that be reason enough to change to carrier insurance? I hate the thought of yet an additional cost to my phone bill.

I am not sure why you would change to the carrier insurance. Did apple not replace it for you? If you live close enough to an apple store i would stick with apple care
