Turning on problem

When trying to turn my phone on, I sometimes have to attempt pressing the side key 5 times, before the phone switches on. Other times, it turns on within 5 seconds. The side keeps feels fine and works well for everything else. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to iMore. Are you pressing and holding or just pressing and releasing? I suggesting press and hold and see if your iPhone comes on that way.

Thanks for replying. I always press and hold. I have never encountered this issue before. Thought it might be the case, but still same problem. Have tried a hard reset, but still persists.
