Is the iMac Pro worth it for Rhino modeling and Maxwell rendering?

I am an architect who will be 3D modeling in Rhino on a daily basis and generating renderings using Maxwell frequently, but not constantly. The iMac Pro seems unnecessarily powerful for my needs, but wanted to know if anyone with similar needs can weigh in.
Thanks!

The iMac Pro is more than you need. I do a lot of rendering of videos and am currently using a Late 27" iMac (4.0GHz/32GB/512GB SSD/M395X) for this work and it flies through it. Here is a good example of an iMac that would work just fine for you. Would be future proof as well.

  • 4.2GHz quad-core 7th-generation Intel Core i7 processor, Turbo Boost up to 4.5GHz
  • 32GB 2400MHz DDR4
  • 512GB SSD
  • Radeon Pro 575 with 4GB video memory
  • Magic Mouse 2
  • Magic Keyboard - US English

This would be sufficient for your needs and save you approximately $2500. It would be perfect. I don't use Rhino but I do use Adobe's Master Collection, Blender and Toon Boom Studio and they require signicant computer power for rendering videos.

Thanks very much for the response! Based on my own experiences and research, I had selected (not purchased) a 27" iMac with almost identical specs. Thanks again!
