iPhone 7 lag when using passcode

Happy New Year

I recently got a 128GB iPhone 7. I'm having a issue where when I enter the passcode, theres a 3 second lag before it goes to the home screen. When I use Touch ID it opens almost instantaneously. Here's the big problem, I have sweaty hands and thus I don't use touch ID to unlock the phone because 9/10 times my hands are too wet to open the phone. Yes I've tried adding my finger wet, doesn't work.

My question is, does anyone else have this lag issue and how did you solve it?

I just tried it with my iPhone 7 Plus, but the "lag" is only about a one and a half seconds. Having said that, I'm also listening to Paul Hardcastle's Jazzmaster Greatest Hits via Music so I'm not sure if it has any effect on it being that while streaming audio, the numeric lock screen isn't readily available when tapping the home button or power button.

The lag gets annoying especially because I see it so many times for the day.

My iPhone 7 has a little delay as well when unlocking with the pass code, maybe 1-2 seconds.

I've installed 10.2.1 beta and it's still there. Also did a fresh install and setup as new but again still there. I'm starting to feel its a hardware issue.
