I can't swipe on my Ipad. Therefore I can't open it Help!

On the opening screen I can't swipe to add my password. I also can't shut it down because I can't swipe anything.

Try a hard reset. Press the home & power button at the same time till you see the  logo, then release. Hopefully this will fix the issue for you.
