iPad stopped starting apps, could delete apps but nothing else. Attempted to restore iPad to original factory settings. It went through steps, downloading iOS 5.1.1, restoring software, verifying software, restoring firmware, verifying firmware. All the time the iPad showed the progress bar moving. Ultimately, it failed with an UNKNOWN ERROR (-1). This process was repeated multiple times. Attempts included different USB ports and different computers.
Attempted the same process in DFU (sic) no changes.
Downloaded RECBOOT attempted to remove it from recovery - failed. RECBOOT error stated failed to connect.
Downloaded TINYUMBRELLA. Got a bunch of Trojans. Still didn't work. Contacted APPLE - they said it's toast and to buy a new one.
