Default 27" iMac as Mac Pro Display

So, yeah, I'm setting up one of the new 27" iMacs as a display for my Mac Pro. Since I work 12+ hours a day in development and design, the pixels matter to me, and I'd been looking at both Apple's 30" Cinema Display and some Dell 30" and other alternatives. However, once you go Apple LED, it's really hard to settle for lesser panels, and the new iMac panel (aside from being $100 cheaper than the 30" ACD, is the same horizontal resolution, and just a tad shorted horizontally since it's 16:9 -- 2560x1440) is SWEET.

End rationalization.

So, plugging in a Belkin Mini-DisplayPort to Mini-DisplayPort cable between the Mac Pro and iMac automatically puts the iMac in Target Display Mode, effectively turning it into a monitor.

Likewise, plugging a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable between the Mac Pro audio out and iMac audio in allows the iMac speakers to play the Mac Pro audio.

I'm still looking for a way to share the iMac's iSight camera, but I haven't found anything yet. I have a Blue Eyeball camera+mic I'll just plug in via USB for now, but getting the iSight to share would be more elegant.

(System Prefs > Sharing has Printer and Scanner, but no iSight. Apple!)

I'm excited to know it's possible to use an iMac as an external display.

Unfortunately my iMac is the first Intel generation and only has one Mini-DVI port. Do you have any suggestions as to how I can use it as an external display for my Mac Pro?

Do you think a Mini-DVI male to Mini-Displayport female connected to the Belkin cable you used might work? (Is there such a thing as a Mini-DVI to Mini-Displayport?)
