    Mac Pro 2009 2.66ghz questions

Sorry, I should have been clear, that also includes the 30" monitor. I am wanting to flash the firmware to 5.1 so that I can update to Sierra. I will also add a 1tb SSD in place of the original hard drive.

Talk me out of it, please

A buddy is offering to sell me his Mac Pro (2.66ghz quad core, 48 gb ram, 1 TB SSD, 30" Apple monitor) for $900, I think I will take that over the iMac for now.

    Mac Pro 2009 2.66ghz questions

A friend has one, and decided that he did not like it (not fast enough, not as good as his current WinTel system, he wants a dual-core, etc), so he has offered to sell it to me. He will add the 30" monitor. It has 48 gb of ram, and he is going to put a 1 tb SSD into the system. What I want to...

Really odd issue found on iPhone 7.

I paid full price so it is not on the next pay off plan, so AT&T said to take it to Apple if I needed a replacement. I will turn on her data on the 22nd and see how it goes. It has steadied down again, and seems to be working ok now. The High School wifi is really bad, so that might also have...

Really odd issue found on iPhone 7.

I had to shut down my daughter's data since she blew through our monthly allotment in ten days. But when I shutdown her data, it killed her phone! She could not call, text or get on the net. Wifi worked sporadically, but she could not make any phone calls or send text messages. I was on...

Talk me out of it, please

I am slowly saving up to get one, so at this rate I should have enough money next year sometime. I hope that they update it and add a couple of USB-C ports, but keeping some legacy USB-A ports.

    Ok I drank the Kool-Aid...Bought a mac

I had to use the little linux laptop today because it was lonely. I have been devoting all my time to my wonderful Macbook Pro system. I am really liking the system. I am getting more used to using it, and the fact that I can use terminal to do things is an added benefit. I think that I am...

Talk me out of it, please

After 32+ years of wanting one, I finally got a Macbook Pro (I just wanted a Mac ever since the first one came out in 1984). Now I find myself looking at the iMac 5k systems. Noooo! I can't afford one, I don't need one, help me, I have Mac Acquisition Fever! Curse you Steve Jobs! Now...

    Ok I drank the Kool-Aid...Bought a mac

After I had to return the new laptop to Best Buy since the webcam would not work (not the Mac, my wife's new HP), I started looking at the 5k iMac's, thinking, I really need one of these.... Nooooo! Where does the madness stop! I might even go to the Apple store again just to look. Or...

    Ok I drank the Kool-Aid...Bought a mac

I am loving it. I had to go to the apple store today so they could show me how to iMessage the kids on their iPhones from the laptop, and it is great. This laptop is rapdily becoming my daily driver, and *sob* I am thinking about an iMac next *OH NO!*

    Ok I drank the Kool-Aid...Bought a mac

I am really liking this thing. Again, I am astonished at the battery life, and while there are a few quirks compared to Windows (or even Linux), it is nothing that I cannot overcome. I am glad I made the purchase. Windows 10 Anniversary edition is the bane of my existance right now since it...

    Ok I drank the Kool-Aid...Bought a mac

The battery life is just nuts, wow! I am liking this laptop very much so far. I am also looking for a malware scanner, I have added Avast to the mac since I am all about security. It is actually a little more comfortable to type on than my HP linux Mint machine. Still getting used to the...

    Ok I drank the Kool-Aid...Bought a mac

I got it as Best Buy yesterday. It was a 2015 model, not the latest, but since I have so many legacy USB devices, I could not afford to go completely USB-C (Which the salesguy told me was rather common, they were selling out of the older model). I had the key issue, and googled it, and...

    Ok I drank the Kool-Aid...Bought a mac

Well after lusting after one for 34 years (I remember 1984's ad), I finally got one today. It is a 13" last years model (I have too many USB devices to go to USB-C) with the 256gb flash drive. I have already had a problem with it, where random keys on the right side of the keyboard would not...

    After 32 years....

How about software compared to Windows/Linux? It looks like the Mac App Store is a good idea. Can I go "full terminal mode" if I desire?

    After 32 years....

After 32 years of wanting one, and never being able to afford one, I plan on getting a Macbook Pro 13" next week (the older model) at Best Buy. What are the major issues I can expect moving from Windows/Linux world to MacWorld? And compare the Macbook running os/x to mint linux (which I run on...
