Poison Maps: The Ultimate POI Watch App

The watch app now shows a map of the nearest POIs as well as a list. The POIs are numbered on both to aid identification, and the user’s GPS trail is shown in real-time to aid orientation. The new complication can be configured to show POIs of absolutely any category (or textual or voice...

Post a list of 3D Touch Enabled Apps!

Check out Poison Maps: it has a unique 3D Touch gesture that allows you to pan across maps by temporarily zooming out according to how hard you press. The details are in post #80 on this thread (I won't repeat them in case it goes against forum rules).

Poison Maps: The Ultimate POI Watch App

Poison Maps (?POIs on maps?) is a general purpose map app which takes a completely different approach to other such apps. This makes it uniquely useful in many situations, and also enables it to include the ultimate POI watch app. The app contains over 20 million POIs of pretty much every type...

Touch ID Unlocking My Phone with one click?

Re: Touch ID Unlocking My Phone with one click I don't think TouchID can be too good, they just need to change the UI slightly to allow for how fast it now is. One possibility is an option for requiring two touches of the home button if there are any notifications, so that you get a chance to...

Do iPhone screens have have burn-in issues at all?

I have also had almost every iPhone since the 3G, all of which are still in daily use by my extended family, and none of which have burn-in or any fading.

"Chipgate" which chip is in your phone? Samsung or TSMC?

TSMC on my 6S Plus. Battery life is much better than my old iPhone 6 (which was great anyway) but that's no surprise with the bigger battery. I also have the dark spot on the screen, although I had to look very carefully on a white screen to find it, so I am not that bothered.

iPhone 6s Plus or 6s with Apple Watch?

Re: iPhone 6s Plus or 6s with apple watch. I have used the Watch with both screen sizes and didn't have any battery life problems with either. Although, as people say, it really depends on your usage. If you are worried and don't mind the size then go for the bigger one. Apart from the bulk...

    6s Buyer's Remorse?

I agree. The bezels on the iPhones have always been unnecessarily big compared to the competition. I know there are rumours of the home button being integrated into the screen in future versions, but if they can't do that then they could put it on the side. It wouldn't be the classic iPhone...

    Future of Applewatch

I don't think that the Apple Watch is aimed at either gender. I think there are options in terms of size, colour and style of band that are clearly aimed at either men or women, but the overall concept is gender neutral. I think the face is square because that is the most efficient use of...

Why does my battery drain so fast?

Re: Why does my battery drain so fast The camera icon is just a shortcut to unlocking the phone into camera mode, which you can do by swiping the button upwards. It is always there so probably isn't the reason for your battery issues. Are you running iOS9? If so then go to the Settings /...

Favorite use of Force Touch so far?

Great thread - I've learnt a lot of good uses of 3D Touch. I think the main problem is that it is not intuitive: unless you try force touching everything (or read threads like this) then you miss out on lots of things that it can do for you. It's not so bad with the home screen icons, where...

    What was your first iPhone?

My first one was an iPhone 3G, which is still used daily as a phone by my mother-in-law. My old 3GS is used daily by my sister-in-law; the iPhone 4 by my mother etc. I'm on my 7th iPhone and all the old ones are still being used by someone in the family (apart from the 4S which I use for...

What are your favorite cases for the iPhone 6s Plus?

I use two Spigen cases at the same time: the super thin Air Skin in everyday use and the Rugged Armor for when I am more worried about damaging the phone. The Air Skin is so thin that I don't need to take it off when I put the Rugged Armor on. This probably doesn't save much time, but it feels...

Post a list of 3D Touch Enabled Apps!

The latest version of Poison Maps includes a unique use of 3D Touch for moving around a map more easily than by pinching and swiping. If you press the map then it zooms out. If you press harder then it zooms out further. You can then move your finger to pan across to where you want (it...
