The verizon 5, 5c and 5s are factory unlocked, any sim will work.

My personal speculation would be a 3 tier approach when the 6 comes out. Simultaneously sell the 6 at the highest end, 5s midrange, and the 5c at the low end, probably free on contract. But of course no one knows what apple will do but apple but it is difficult to imagine a new c series phone...

It is also dependant on the carrier, if you are on verizon or att it comes out of your data allotment. If using tmobiles $70 plan you are alloted 2.5 gbs of data specifically for tethering.

Also not trying to overstep any boundaries or tell the buyer what to do. Just trying to provide info, an honest opinion, and ultimately let him decide. I dont want any retaliation for saying I think an android phone "might" be better for this particular instance lol.
