In short yes every device with Bluetooth 4.0 LE and up can. IPhone 4S and up, iPad 2 and up, iPad Mini and up, and iPod Touch 5G. The only thing is for a lot of these features to work they have to both be on iOS 8 obviously. And signed into the same iTunes account on both devices. Same for Macs...

What I suggest is going to your carrier store or an Apple store once they release the 4.7 inch iPhone 6. Take the iPhone 6 and politely ignore the workers there! Go over the phone. Do you like the feel the OS. Can you do basic things you need to easily. Email, camera, message people, internet...
