Does the Apple TV require a wifi connection for airplay?

So a little more investigation, I can stream videos from the amazon app to the Apple TV. Anything I've downloaded for offline viewing doesn't work. Airplay should just send the video signal to my TV, why it has an issue with downloaded shows I'm not sure. Due to my aforementioned internet issues...

Does the Apple TV require a wifi connection for airplay?

I can't get airplay to work. It will work just fine, quickly and easily, with the photos app. I can play videos and display pictures easily. I can't get any video to play from iTunes or the Amazon instant video app. I've tried with the internet turned on and with it turned off. It simply won't...

Does the Apple TV require a wifi connection for airplay?

According to the link it says "Make sure that both devices have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth turned on. If you want to stream iTunes Store content, you also need an Internet connection" . If I'm using a peer to peer connection I'm guessing as long as wifi is turned on to the Apple TV (but blocked from...

Does the Apple TV require a wifi connection for airplay?

I have a limited data connection at home. It is however unmetered between the hours 12am-5pm. I'm thinking of buying an Apple TV strictly for airplay purposes. I can download movies and tv shows using Amazon Prime on my iPad during the unmetered hours and use airplay to watch them when...

    Magic Mouse

I have found some uses where the mouse is actually better suited. Usually if something requires very precise control but thankfully that's been pretty limited. Finding the "3 fingers to drag" on the trackpad has been a life saver for me. By far my favorite gesture.

    Magic Mouse

I've been using the Magic Mouse for a week now. I love the gestures on the mouse but overall i'm not a fan. It's just not comfortable to use for any prolonged period of time. It's too slim and just not form fitting. I really like the track pad and that's what i've been using most of the time. My...

Do new macs come with up to date software?

I did try one at the store a few weeks ago before I bought one. It was definitely vibrating. My last hope with this one was there was a setting or something simple I was missing.

Do new macs come with up to date software?

Ok, I think it's defective then. The force touch works, meaning it will do what I expect force touch to do, I just get no vibration or haptic feedback from the magic trackpad 2. Thanks for the feedback!

Do new macs come with up to date software?

Thank you for the tip! I'm fairly tech savvy so I'll figure everything out. I asked in the peripherals forum but maybe someone will see this sooner, I bought the Magic Trackpad 2 and there's not haptic feed back with it. I just want to make sure I'm not missing a setting before I return it. I...

Do new macs come with up to date software?

Google has been my friend that's for sure. So far the only thing I've found myself missing was the Windows "snapping" tool. I read there's a 3rd party app that can replicate that so I might look into that later. Something I noticed right away is how much better iTunes runs on the Mac versus...

    Magic trackpad 2 haptic feedback

I bought the Magic Trackpad 2 for my iMac. I'm not feeling any vibration with it. I'm supposed to feel something when I force click right? I hear an audible clicking when I tap on it but that's it and I think that's just from the device itself. I'm thinking the haptic motor in it is defective. I...

Are we getting stiffed with Photos on iOS macOS?

That's what's being advertised at the moment. I'm reserving judgement until we get closer to the finished product. It does seem like a stupid thing to have not work together. Hopefully it's something they've already figured out.

    Setup complete!

my first iMac is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. My wife got a new PC at Christmas time. I tried to convince her to look at Mac's but she refused and said she had too many programs that worked with Windows. Good luck with yours. i'm hoping after she gets her hands on mine she'll rethink her decision.

What are your thoughts on Apple's iOS 10 announcement?

Re: What are your thoughts on today's iOS 10 announcement? I thought that exact same thing. im honestly not that worried about it personally but I can see that being a huge concern for some people.

Do new macs come with up to date software?

At least that's pretty small. We get a small amount of data a month (15 gigs), but it's un-metered between the hours of 12am-5am. So even small updates like this have to wait until after midnight usually. I of course work in the morning so staying up late to do updates isn't always feasible...

Do new macs come with up to date software?

Gotcha. Ok. Thanks for answering. I assumed that's how it was but I had held out a slimmer of hope that everything would be updated at the time of building the machine.

Do new macs come with up to date software?

I bought my first ever Mac today. A late 2015 iMac. I have a limited data plan at home so getting and setting up a new computer can be a pain when everything needs to be updated and software downloaded. I ordered Logic Pro x with my Mac hoping to save on downloading that at home later. So my...

Most compatible 64gb ram for the late 2015 27' iMac with 5k display?

I am just the slightest bit nervous because there are a lot of forum posts out in the wild about 3rd party ram causing issues. I'm going to buy the standard 8 gigs from Apple and bump it to 16 aftermarket to start with and then go from there.
