My ipsw file is corrupt, per iTunes, so I cannot go to 5.1.1 without getting a new ipsw. I have an ipsw for 6.1, is it safe to restore my 4s to 6.1 then use evasion?

Is this normal? No matter what brightness setting I have my phone at, the lock screen is brighter. Not a major problem, just an oddity I wouldn't expect from Apple.
