So next month I am getting the iPhone 5. I am not selling my 4, I am keeping it incase anything happens. My question is, I am wondering if I should run the battery on it down to it turns off then just let it go? Instead of leaving it sit for a long time, with a full battery.

Is it easier just to get the carrier to send it out or just go directly to the apple store? I think that might be easier. Verizon/Fedex had issues with my last two phones ending up somewhere else. I might just goto the apple store.

Can you select exactly only what you want?

Is there directions how to restore after setting it up as a new phone? Even if you set it up as a new phone and dont do a restore you can still get your contacts, music that you bought and apps without paying for them again correct/

My Iphone 4 did this before I returned it. No idea why. My current iphone 4 also does this sometimes. Not sure why. as soon as it's unplugged....it's normal.

So I have a verizon iphone 4. I got it july of last year. Since day one it has been in an otterbox defender. never dropped or anything like that. Tonight while using it I took notice it is not responsive at times. If i HOLD it down it works. If I click it, nothing happens. i have to do it...

I attached a screen shot of my usage. This was mostly on 3g only. Only on wifi for about the last 2 hours the screen shot was taken. Most of the day I was in an office that has 1 bar of 3g or was that little circle thing, which is slower then 3g.

For the verizon version can anyone confirm the version number shows at 5.0 (9A334) ?

I should just be able to update the phone then right from itunes right? I wont have to wipe/restore to a new version will I? Just click "update", right?

I installed the GM. It shows up as 5.0 (9A334) is this true GM? I shouldnt have any issue on weds right?

When I look under the file properties it stats it's "iOS_5_GM_seed_iphone_4_cdma__9a334.dmg" Is there another way to tell for sure?

Alright. I have it downloaded on my windows pc but i'll send it over to my MBP and install it on there since that is how i normally connect my iphone. How can i restore my contacts then?

Thanks, Some people were saying i'd have to restore and then upgrade to the final version. I think i'll put this GM on tonight. How long does it take to install it? Also if I do a backup before I do anything can I clean install the new OS then restore my contacts?

Will you have to restore to the old version 4.whatever then upgrade to final. or will the GM just update to whatever is new?
