Since there aren't any iPhone 5's in existence for Verizon, I was thinking about grabbing an iPhone 4S if it still comes out of the box with iOS 5. Has anyone bought one recently?

I don't think the screen shots provided should be using the battery that fast. But it also depends on what you're doing with the phone during the usage time. If you're on phone calls the whole time, that might be normal.

Yep. I use mine normally and usually get home from an 8 hour work day with about 75-85% battery left. I could probably go 2.5 days on the same charge. Most people, including me, seem to gt around 5-7 hours actual "screen on" usage time. I wouldn't hope for much more.

I think I just fixed it. Settings>messages>receive at>caller ID> phone number instead of email address. It's working like normal again. Hope it stays reliable, and hope this helps someone.

I use exchange set up for gmail and have my contacts synced through there, and I use iCloud but don't sync any of my contacts through iCloud.

I also just figured out that if I click on the message that Siri shows, so that I can edit it, it opens up the messages app to the right person. So the problem is somewhere between Siri displaying the message and then when it's actually sent.

I don't remember, I'm not using siriport now since it stopped working the second day I had it. But if you have it installed, there's a link to it somewhere either in the install process or in the settings for the app.

Sometimes I forget to check google first.... Here's the fix: Turn on airplane mode, go to email app, delete the draft/email that's stuck. That's it. For some reason, being in airplane mode allows you to select the email In the outbox that was previously not selectable.

I tried to send a video to someone with my iPhone 4. It said it was unable to send the email, but it shows up in my outbox as something that's trying to send. The white status bar at the bottom of the email app is stuck showing "sending", but it won't send. I can't delete the email from anywhere...

Could've just been the servers were overloaded, but I think that if it ends up not working for any period of time, I will probably remove it too. Or I guess just disabling it for a day or so would be a good idea.

I downloaded siriport and got it working on my Verizon iPhone 4 jailbroken on ios 5.0.1. It works perfectly. Took some patience but was super easy to install and use.

Isn't that the one that's supposed to be really insecure? If its working for you, I'd like to try it. I think I had read that a lot of people were worried about where the servers were and how insecure they were.
