Is it okay to physically clean iPhone 5 with a specialized wipe? I did with my 4 and read somewhere along the way that there is a 'wax' or something on screen that could come off. But that may have been with the screen protectors that took the wax off when removing them.

Yep. The best thing to do is take to an Apple store if possible, tell them exactly what happened and they will most likely take care of you.

UPDATE: I cannot download when I wifi only. But I know my wifi is working bc all other things on iPhone and iPad and iMac and Apple TV are working perfectly fine. Only trying to download apps on wifi is not working.

Last night when I got home I noticed I could not download any apps and continued this morning. The app icon would appear on home screen, the blue line would go about a quarter of the way and just stop. After a minute or two an alert pops up and say the app is unable to be downloaded. Tried many...
