I'm not sure what you guys see in performance in iOS 8.1.2. If you haven't noticed. Yes there are lags, more ram is take up easily resulting in jitters. Performance is not there in iOS 8.1.2. iOS 7.1.2 has the performance though and no slow downs

When it comes to performance, fast responsiveness, etc. iOS 6 was very good. (Especially on the iPhone 5.) Apple seems to have this attitude now a days. Yet there is no innovation. And iOS 8 has many bugs and design flaws from iOS 7. I honestly don't know why a company ships an incomplete...

Apps looked a lot better with iOS 6. There was more design. Each app had it's own ui going own, which I didn't mind. It was neat.

Apple should of built on top of iOS 6 instead of rewriting it. I am use to a quick response from unlocking to launching apps and exiting. And can't forget performance. even the new iPhone 6 is slow because of the show of animations. An extra GB of RAM is needed to run the animations.

Apple Geniuses think they know what they are talking about. They remind me of new app in iOS 8. The Tips app...

Battery life isn't as good as it was with iOS 7.1

iOS 8.1 runs smoothly on my 5s. No crashing. Keyboards are sloppy though

My suggestion is the gold or silver option. I've had the silver 5s since it launched last year. No scratches, just some scuffs on the metal band from dropping it.
