iPad Mini 3 name

What will the iPad Mini 3 be called officially by Apple? iPad Mini 3? iPad Mini with Retina Display and Touch I.D?

If they stuck to the naming trend like they did with the iPad 2 and 3, they'd call the Mini with Retina the iPad Mini 2 and the Mini 3, "The New iPad Mini" lol

Yeah, but I honestly hope Apple changes the name. iPad Mini with Retina Display 2 is quite a mouthful

I’m not sure Apple needs to include the "Retina" tag in the name. I fully expect the entire iPad line to have retina displays. They already are for the 9.7" iPad line, as Apple has retired the iPad 2. Since the new Mini will be the second 7.9" iPad, I expect them to drop the first gen Mini from their product line.

I’d just go with iPad Mini 3.

I think it'll just be called "the new iPad mini". Either that or they'll do what they did with macs and do the 2014 iPad mini.
