You do see the irony here, right?

It must have been a horrible 8 years for you guys then.
It was a terrible eight years. I am glad that the tyrant is gone and we have someone with a proven record in office! At least if I speak out against President Trump I won't be called a racist, and obama's race had nothing to do with my dislike of him.

Man I tried lol. And then y'all say things like...

He has a quick temper, cannot deal with anyone questioning him legitimately.
As is Trump doesn't satisfy this perfectly. You HAD to know what you were doing when you typed that. You set me up lol. Up to that point you were being pretty objective.

Then y'all compare Trump to rappers!?

Yet you say nothing about rappers who say things much worse than President Trump said.
Kanye, Diddy, Jay Z or Eminem would never in a million years get my vote LOL.

Come on man lol. This is why I can't have these discussions. Although fun, too many contradictions, deflections and strawman arguments.

My man said "Someone with a proven record in office".

Ok Ok Ok...y'all win. I'm done LOL.

I think the reason he pointed it out is because you're using the "grace" argument to combat his argument that Trump's attitude doesn't really factor in to why he wants him as president. I wouldn't go as far as to say Obama has a "quick temper" but it's easy to have grace when the press and other outlets don't have it out for you. But when he finally enters into a realm with a hard line of questioning he does tend to get a little hot under the collar. Like when Bill O'Reilly interviewed him a couple of years ago on Super Bowl Sunday. I know it's a cool thing to do to chastise anything that has to do with Fox News or its employees, but just because most of that outlet is conservative doesn't mean that their line of questioning and counterarguments should be deemed as biased and we should therefore dismiss them all while giving Obama the "grace" title.

I didn't compare Trump to rappers, I'd never do that. What I compared was what Trump allegedly said about females to what rappers say about females on a consistent basis. However, you chose to deflect like you liberals do. It's okay for rappers to constantly disgrace females, but a Republican running for president, hell no! For the record, Trump was a registered democrat when the alleged statement happened, so therefor it's okay to say according to the lefties. Also Trump does have a proven track record with businesses, like I said. You chose to lie and say that I said a proven record in office. What did obama have? Nothing, he was a first term senator and didn't really do anything noteworthy. I hope these next eight years are as miserable for you as the last eight were for me!

That's because there's a difference between the conservative and liberal brain.

Science has known this for years.

It's actually an evolutionary tactic to balance mankind. You'd probably disagree, but it's wouldn't be a good thing if we ALL thought the same way.

Here are a couple of really good scientific papers on the discussion:

So, for example, if you see 'Huffington Post' in the third link and immediately have a negative reaction without actually reading the article, you're doing exactly what the studies say the conservative brain would.

Good reads for those interested in how we all do OR don't get along!

    For the record.

I was born, raised and live in NYC. I live in Tokyo for a year, but other than that, I'e lived in NYC my entire life.

    I am a registered Independent.

    Good reads.

These findings have led some to speculate that larger and more sensitive amygdalae in conservatives may cause them to be more driven by fear and emotional rewards.

whereas liberals have a higher tolerance of ambiguity and complexity and greater openness,
    -Huffington

I don't presume "conservatives" will like these studies very much though, for some reason.

Well, the idea is that the conservative brain is less receptive to 'change'.

From an evolutionary slant, it may not be best to rush head long into any change without thought of the all potential consequences.

But from another evolutionary slant, the species that best adapts to change is most liely to persevere.

We need both. No doubt about it.

But the brains are very different, which is why you often(I actually pronounce this word "off-ten") hear those on either side say things like:

"I can't fathom how anyone can think this way!"

    It's because they REALLY can't.

I would argue that your statement that "the conservative brain is less receptive to change" is false. I am a hard core conservative, and I adapt easily to change. If you'd look at my background and career field you'd see that change is the only consistency.

That's false logic. The key words, and maybe it's more about generalities than specificity, are LESS RECEPTIVE.

It does't say that conservatives DON'T change.

But the truth is you had an emotional reaction to the studies based on anecdotal experience(s).

    So, ding, ding, ding.

And as you quoted my links as 'NOT TOO REPUTABLE'.

Here's a link to a government neuroscience study pretty much saying the same thing.

But I would guess you didn't read any of the actual articles. Yes?

I did read them. And only a liberal would post what you did when you said "the conservative brain is less receptive to change," and that's a quote from you. It's an Italian flag on my page, and I've grown up, and lived, all over the world, perks of having a military flag officer for a father and being a commissioned military officer myself. If you are really from NYC, I find it hard to believe that you don't recognize the Italian flag. And no, not everyone in Italy looks and sounds the same.

    My specific quote was:

"THE IDEA IS the conservative brain is less receptive to change."

That being the idea of THE STUDIES POSTED. Not my personnel belief. But I'm guessing that you had some sort of autonomic response to the post, zoned in on very specific words and discarded everything else posted.

That actually is an emotional response.

Whether you choose to believe something or not does not make it untrue.

What's interesting from a certain sociological perspective is that you would rather expel personal energy name calling, than actually in-depth commenting on the studies themselves.

Oh! So that's the Italian flag? Good for you guys.

They only time I see it here in the city is during the World Cup.

Or when I pass by the U.N.
