Obama will go down in history as one of the best US presidents, until this point

People's perception is divorced from reality

1) ended recession in 6 months taking office, U.S. economy has grown every quarter since June 2009, last quarter was strongest growth since 2003

2) got Osama

3) saved us auto industry

4) passed a healthcare plan that people complain about it, yet people even republicans who have an ACA PLAN, 75% overwhelmingly are happy with it

5) highest Dow and s&p in US history

6) has lowered the deficit every year since 2010

7) record corporate profits

8) got out of two deficit killing wars

9) unemployment the lowest it's been since 2006, on target to be 4% by end of his presidency , 5%, he regained every job lost in the recession by end of 4 th year becoming a net job creator

10) managed to succeed inspite of fierce opposition from a right who would rather derail the U.S. Than see him succeed

People are divorced from reality when it comes to Obama, seriously, I just read how ridiculous it is on article talking about the new face racism and how we are incapable of not being biased, ... People were shown graph indicating the job growth in the uS since Obama took over, and then asked if Obama lost jobs or created jobs during his presidency , and the surprising answer was lost... Although the people were presented right there wih evidence it's like their brains refused to accept or acknowledge, once Obama leaves office and the "threat" that people inherently have when someone who doesn't look like them is in a position of pore he will be remembered about how great he was and how the country loved him. Kind of like people forget Cassius clay, I mean Muhammad Ali was one of the most hated men in America during the 60s. It will be comical ... Threads like that will seem like no they never happened, .... Just remember this comment when the narrative is rewritten and people acknowledge his success and people pretend that they felt that way all along.

I'd like some feedback on this topic...What would happen if people found out(in the year 2020), that Obama knew all along that he was born in Kenya? Would he be liable for criminal punishment? Would everything that he signed into law be reversed? :p

I don't think he was born in Kenya. But I don't think he is a legal citizen of the US. I believe he never got his citizenship back after returning from living in Indonesia.

Yep! Why else did he rush to seal his records after being elected. It was his first action as President. Why? What was he afraid of?

Sent from my ancient but trustworthy iPhone 5.

The Mystery of Barack Obama Continues..His records going back to childhood are sealed, and he has spent millions of tax-dollars keeping those records sealed. ... A man whose birth records, both in the United States and Kenya, are sealed by government order. You are right: His very first official act as President was was seal his records..... What is Obama hiding?

JUST WHO IS THIS GUY.... OBAMA??

* A man with no birth certificate.

* A man whose birth records, both in the United States and Kenya, are sealed by government order.

* A man whose childhood mentor, Frank Marshall Davis, spied on U.S. military installations in Hawaii for the Soviet Union, edited a communist newspaper, authored pornographic novels, and wrote poetry in praise of Joseph Stalin.

* A man who promised transparency in government, but has spent over a million dollars in legal fees hiding information that would determine his eligibility to be President.

* A man whose academic records are sealed from kindergarten through law school.

* A man who traveled to Pakistan when it was illegal for U.S. citizens to do so. So what country’s passport did he use? And what country is he really a citizen of?—it's not the USA.

And yet every single one of you hasn't commented on the points in the OP's post....save for Osama....in which he WAS killed under his watch. The hate for this guy is unbelievable. Makes you think that he opened your front door, drank out of your milk carton, and took a massive dump on your kitchen table.

Sad....

Ironically, this further illustrates my point, did anyone say geez Bush didn't pull Hussein out of that hole so how can he get credit for "mission accomplished"?

Show me and I'll show you the stats that despite Obama inheriting a recession 3xs larger than Reagans, how Obama had a better results, and not to mention that he managed preventing for reaching the unemployment high that Reagan. By all objective measures Obama is pretty darn incredible especially accomplishing what he wants to.

Read the post above.....

This has already been addr

Again, cite it. Objectively, not your opinion and then put it into context of history.

Ps another statistical fact the U.S. Economy grows faster under democrat presidents as well as does middle class wages. Although, republicans are associated with economy historically its democrats who have done the best, actually democrats with republican senates

I largely agree. I would spotlight that quantitative easing has actual helped. He doesn't get any credit for that. You can google the subject and see that critics were saying how it will or did fail but if you look at recent data it has been shown to be effective.

He doesn't get enough credit for environment. I hope that shows well long term.

But I am disappointed that he missed big on some promises:
- he did not achieve bipartisan support.
- he was late and absent to address gay issues.
- he did not close GitMo.
- he is Bush 2 for destroying personal liberty in the name of national security
- although economy is improved it is not enough for all. I'll take what we got which is better then detractors give credit for. It should be noted that Bush team gets 1/2 credit for policies his team put in place that Obama continued.
- he wimped out on holding those responsible for finance crisis.
- although a great communicator during campaign he has been terrible communicating what has transpired.
- in a political sense he really let himself get walked on by opposition.
- he actually left gun control alone for most of his presidency and caved after the unfortunate events. So he will go away deserving the early critics now being right.

Many of these praises and much of the blame really should be placed on congress not the president. He certainly did not become the leader we all wanted.

What will be remembered:
- the crisis what allowed it.
- the gov intervention that actually worked over time
- banks will remember that they got away with it
- the country was divided like never before
- fierce battle against the pres for power worked both policy wise and with public sentiment.
- new tactics emerged for political power.
- the president didn't live up to hope and change
- racial and class divides continued.
- the tea party was effective on some levels but really put GOP in a tough spot in any attempts at bipartisanship. Drove moderates further out. Just look at Romney's platform as prime example. He championed health care reform in my state (MA) and was pro choice friendly. Now he is hard right. And no one cares.
- politics trumped policy

Didn't live up by what standard, as quantitively measured he was better than Reagan wirh his economic recovery, and this including the fact he had a recession that was 3xs larger than the Reagan recession. But Obama didn't do enough? Compared to who, what planet are you on.

Obama didn't stop the divide? Number 1 the uS has always been divided, if people can't even admit racism exist how could you possibly end it, people can't even admit that how they view Obama is through the lens of race. Who and when did Obama say he was going to end the racial issues this country has. Oh wait he is "black" so that's the expectation and measure you decided he must accomplish.

The bottom line I can make a litany of points about what any president hasn't accomplished. And what they did accomplish, and if you look at Obama through the same lens as other presidents , he's exceptional by comparison, period. And I'll say it, if he wasn't black this wouldn't even be a discussion but of course because how we collectively are taught to view blacks admitting he wasn't this failed experiment of "white guilt" would go counter to that biased belief system.
