    I see this map thing in the corner but I'm honestly not sure what it's trying to tell me. It seems to be an indicator of Pokemon around me but doesn't say which way I should be going.

    If I had to guess, I'd say go in the direction the indicator is pointing.

    You can click on the nearby Pokmon box in the lower left and watch the foot prints by the Pokmon, if they decrease you are going in the right direction. If you are searching out a particular Pokmon in the nearby group you can click on it and watch just that Pokmon where the nearby Pokmon box is. The upper right icon is only a compass to tell you what direction you are physically walking in.

    If I had to guess, I'd say go in the direction the indicator is pointing.
    There's no directional indicator, only distance.

    The red tipped arrow in the upper right-hand corner only points north no matter where you are going. Your avatar only points north unless you rotate your screen to go in the direction you are actually headed.
