Hmm seems like Apple still has quite a bit of work to do with their fouxkeh software magic, the edges around certain parts of the lamp are smeared in a very unnatural manner. But when it works it works quite nicely!

Yeah I've noticed especially around hard light, or areas that are darker. It works the best in ambient light...at least that's my experience

Yup, taken with the iPhone 7 Plus! You can check the EXIF.
The trick is to use procamera and manually set the ISO to 25 and set the shutter speed to 1/3.

Also it's important that you shoot RAW so you can edit the images nondestructively in Adobe Camera Raw or Capture One Pro.
With these settings I'm guessing a tripod was used?

One of my favourite iPhone apps is Slow Shutter Cam, and they recently had an update which included support for the iPhone 7 Plus Tele lens and ISO control.

The timing of the update also coincided with my family trip to South West Western Australia so i got a few picturesque places to test it out.

I wish I had a tripod with me! It was spur of the moment so I had to just keep my hands as still as possible haha.

No manipulation, no editing. Just the portrait feature. More to come (I take pictures for a living)

Definitely the only gripe I have with the telephoto camera is just how tricky it is to use in low light.

Hopefully the iPhone 8's telephoto camera will have much improved low light capability.

Quick snap with the default app near sunset last night. Did touch to set exposure on the bright area of the clouds. Viewed on my calibrated monitor at home it was very close to the actual thing. No editing.

This one is really close (note the brighter cloud) just not framed as well.

Depth effect. I know it's not the best background but saw this thread and wanted to try out the depth effect. I'll try for better next time.
