GoPro 3 Black - How do I best tranfer video onto iPad 4th Gen?

After discussing this with an Online Apple Store Genius, I still have no clear answer.

I was thinking if simply using a Micro SD to SD Adapter and then plugging that into the Apple SD Card Reader Adapter and connecting it to my iPad 4.

Should work? I guess. Any help or other ideas on how to get my video over from the GoPro 3 to iPad 4 without having to use an intermediate computer would be excellent
