Why is a blackberry better than an iPhone?
can anyone answer this question?
Please i ask, leave the fanboy-ism/fangirl-ism out of this.
when you answer, think logically and tell me WHY?!!!
compare hardware and software.Last edited by Rademe; 08-26-2011 at 05:27 PM.

The only advantage BB has to Apple is it's security features.

i think we are starting off wrong here. for you to title this thread "why is a blackberry better than an iPhone" hints toward fanboyism yourself
this thread would work better over at crackberry
so now, you tell me why you think blackberry is better than the iPhone. if you can - 08-26-2011, 07:04 PM #4

I posted this question on both forums because I wanted to hear what the views were.
The guys over by crack berry gave absolutely no substantial reason. The only one I saw that made sense was the physical keyboard.
One went to say the 9810 was as slim as the iPhone when it's the same form factor, no physical change to the device.
As for emailing goes, my emails come to my iPhone faster and the blackberry doesn't have folder management for BIS users. I just don't see how they do emailing better.Last edited by Rademe; 08-27-2011 at 01:00 AM.

I miss the sound profiles and kinda like having a file system .. Attaching multiple things to email ..and bbm of course .. Still wouldn't give my iPhone up lol I'm sure apple will add some stuff sooner or later

I might take QNX over iOS when it comes out on the phones. Kinda depends on how well they present it though. If it's anything like their first touchscreen phone I think I'll stay away. Keyboard, LED notification light, sound profiles was a good one, the ease of creating a theme. That's about all I can come up with for now.

IMHO, niether one is any better than the other. Both devices have their good and bad areas and things that could be improved apon. Compare features and choose the smartphone that best matches your needs.

Different phones are better and worse for different people for different reasons. I've had 6 blackberrys and 3 iPhones, and I prefer the iPhone over the blackberry.

I agree with sound profiles, they are a nice aspect. And the "little blinking light" thing. Not enough to outweigh most other features, but still 2 things I honestly believe are better with a BB

I'm just tired of hearing about email. I get better email on my iPhone with Microsoft Exchange on my iPhone then I ever did with my BB. Grant it I'm with a small company so no BES.

it really depends what you want on your phone...some people think the LED light is a blessing and others think it is a curse...a nagging reminder you haven't looked at something and you need to look at it so it stops. Yes it can be helpful if, say, you don't initially hear the phone but if you are busy doing something it can stress you out (not greatly...but it gives you a sense of there is one more thing that needs doing). I had the original BB Pearl, original Curve, Storm 1, Tour, Storm 2, Bold 9650 over a span of many years and I have finally ended up at iPhone (might have been earlier but I am on verizon so I had to wait). With a short stint at droid (HTC Incredible) I think it is just a process of finding what features certain phones have that you want, like, need, and what features you don't care about. For me the messaging and email on BB was awesome but the browsing sucked (internet browsing). Droid had reliable google maps, great camera (im a photographer so I love having decent imaging capabilities wherever I go), and was fast but the battery life was horrid (probably just the Incredible though) it was a big buggy (unfinished feeling) and I never composed an email on it because it was just bad. So I decided to switch to iPhone and now I have more features that matter to me on this than any other system so it works. I would say pick a phone and try it, then try a different one and eventually you will find "the one" and with syncing to computers and google contacts, calendar etc it makes changing platforms SO easy.

Sorry but your question is wrong. A Blackberry isn't better than an iPhone and vice versa. It might suit your needs better.
If you don't need the keyboard and BIS and BES and prefer tons of apps etc the iPhone might be the better choice. Nowadays all phones are good. It depends on what you want/need. - 10-07-2011, 08:09 PM #23
One isn't better than the other. It all depends on the user. Some people need a a solid physical keyboard which is why they go for the blackberry. Others need a multimedia device so they go for the iphone (or a droid). As a person who owns a blackberry, had a droid, and will be getting an iphone, I can honestly say there are strengths and weaknesses to all phones.
