Not much. It's an absolutely horrible experience compared to the iPhone. I'd say RIM & WinMo are ahead of android in ease of use.

Notifications are done fairly well, and I think everyone agrees this is one of the iPhones weak spots at the moment.

Though to be fair, it's the fact many of us have 4/5 or more pages of apps on the iPhone that make it difficult. RIM/Blackberry have a similar setup, and people rave about how well it works - but thats because your getting notifications from a few apps - not a dozen across several pages.

Otherwise android is slow, not easy to use, confusing, the android market is a shambles ... yuck!

Having had the HTC Hero for several months, notifications are the one feature I prefer over my current iPhone setup.

However, if I want to use iTunes to browse the App store, it's a lot better than the official Android market website. Considering that Google grew their business on the basis of a search engine, their Market website is appalling. You're forced to use your Android handset in order to see all of the apps available.

the Sense deal on there is really nice. My brother picked one of these up and the multiple home screens and customization of it all is really nice. hope apple figures that out...

The answer to this question has haunted me ever since I bought my girl a DROID and found out she could listen to pandora while texting. Needless to say, running multiple apps at the same time almost made me join the dark side.

Notification system, widgets. Although I can completely understand why widgets are a bad idea... They would murder battery life and processing power (not in moderation, but people tend to go overboard).

"smarter" is subjective... I'd say there are areas where the iPhone is much smarter than the Droid, and vice versa.

Notification system, widgets and cheaper plans. Just waiting to see what Mr. Jobs has up his sleeve before I make my final decision. I pay $150 a month for my iphone compared to $100 a month for the new HTC Evo, so I really hope that the new iPhone convinces me to stay.
