    Default Bold 9700. Anyone switching?

AT&T is launching RIMs new flagship device, the Blackberry Bold 9700. Anyone plan on switching?

I'd like to give it a try, it looks awesome and BBM and better battery life are something I've always wanted, it's probably not worth losing Safari over, but I want one anyway. Maybe this is one of the grass is always greener scenarios. Anyone else plan on jumping the Apple ship?

i used BBs for about 4 years and the browser just simply sucks.
operamini was the only thing that kept me from leaving for the last year or so.
not to mention the options with a jailbroken iphone blow away anything RIM has to offer, imo.

Well I've never had a BB of my own but from what I've seen the browser is pretty bad. Glad you're happy with the iPhone, I agree, it is awesome, but I'm a heavy user and the battery life really bugs me since it dies while I'm still at school. That's pretty much the only reason I want a 9700, I need something that'll take 14 hours of heavy use between charges.

The battery is the only enticing thing to me..

Other than that its too small in size for my hands, and even though BB OS 5.0 is decent, its still too boring.

I must admit I was tempted, and all the way through 'rumour' phase thought it may be the device with which RIM won me back over.
I changed from an 8900 (running 5.0) to my 3GS in July, and whilst I do miss certain things they're FARRR outweighed by the benefits of the iPhone.
Maybe come BB OS 11.8 I may go back, but all the time it's that same old GUI I'm stayin' Apple baby.

I'm sick of the bad battery life and apparently the 9700 can go days without a charge. I'm switching as soon as I find someone to buy my 3Gs.

Held a 9700 in an AT&T store yesterday & today.. the small size is absolutely horrible for me. Typing would be nearly impossible for someone with big hands like myself.

Its a shame because the new trackpad looks and performs awesome, and the re-design of the Bold was good except for the small size.

I hate that the new Bold 9700 is smaller than the original Bold 9000....its like why do all the Blackberry's have to be the same size? The size of the Bold 9000's screen and keyboard made it the best from facing qwerty keyboard phone out there and if you didn't like the size, then you could get the Curve 8900. Now all the devices are almost mirror images of each other....what's the point of having multiple devices then?

Picked up a 9700 on Tuesday..

Must say I'm pleasantly surprised. Batter life is amazing, keyboard although smaller than the 9000 is still pretty darn good.. in the end though its still a BlackBerry and in need of a desperate UI/OS refresh.

I've seen 4.2-5.0. The biggest change was going to 4.5. 5.0 feels like they're laying a framework for future updates and didn't bother to include much you can see.

Yeah.. as much as 5.0 was anticipated, so far its been a let down for many.

I got my iPhone a few days ago and as much as I like the iPhone, I miss my blackberry. I'm debating between returning the 3GS for a 9700 or sticking with the 3GS and just buying a 9700.
