Because you can't just spend 10 minutes with a product and say you don't like it.

Oh and btw, I also have an iPad and my 2010 MacBook Pro. I also have airports in my house. So don't think I bash Apple just because I feel like it.

My biggest problem with the 2 Surface tablets is the weight and form factor. It might work well as a laptop replacement, I'm not sure, but for me I like using a tablet in portrait mode and the Surface just feels too top heavy. I cannot see myself reading in portrait mode for long periods of time.

(And I've used one for more than 10 minutes. My office has a selection of Android, iPad, and Surface tablets for testing websites on them.)

Yes, you can. It is no different than meeting someone for two minutes & determining that you don't like or trust them. No, it shouldn't be that way, but it is. We live in an instant gratification society and if a purchase does not provide that, we are uninterested. Of course, that does not apply to everyone........(snipped)

You have to get used to it first, it is something different.

Have you tried going to the desktop and opening a CMD prompt and entering "powercfg /batteryreport" then checking the file it saves to your user account? It will at least give you an idea of how the battery is doing.

Great question. Apparently not enough people have a Surface tablet to stop the bleeding over at Microsoft.
But hey. Who knows? Maybe by Suface 3.1, things will turn around for the beleaguered software giant.

And Microsoft's biggest problem with the 2 Surface tablets is that they aren't selling.
Not enough to be sustainable anyway. Kind of like Bing, except there's also a hardware problem.

Please do not characterize me in your We vs. Them..

I have two IOS devises (4s and iPad Mini) and three android devices (Galaxy SII, Note 10.1 and a Kindle Fire) and love them each for their specific purposes... "We" like both...

That being said, I do not like the Surface tables or the OS...

    Wow.

Conversations like this always make me cringe.

I own a Surface Pro, and I'll tell you right now, its a killer device. I love the thing to death. It is so powerful, and everything works on it. I have been so impressed by the touch UI, the whole deal. I will NEVER go back to touchless computing. Ever. I considered a MacBook Air, but they are so overpriced, and there's no touch and to do any of the work I need to do on a PC I'd have to put Windows on it anyway.

The Windows 8 'Metro' interface is a wonderful touch experience, and the Desktop is better for touch than its ever been. Far from perfect, but that's why there's a Wacom pen, which gives you so much more control than any mouse ever could.

Android sucks on anything above 8 inches, because most of the apps are phone apps. The only tablet OSs worth considering are Windows 8 and Ios. I just ordered an IPad 4 to use for 'play' (my first ever Apple device), and I'm looking forward to using it. I'm very familiar with them because my wife and kids all have IPads. The IPad is a great tablet, but don't make the mistake od assuming that the Surface isn't also great. Its just a different beast. It sort of smacks of ignorance to me. I am a serious computer user, and I can't express just how deeply impressed I am by Surface Pro.
