Its all about choice. With android u have the CHOICE of which device u want and the choice of what u wanna do or not do with it

Default Why does Android have so many users?

The biggest reason is the pricing structure. If you want an iPhone, you'll pay $199 for your new phone. That's your only option unless you go with the old iPhone for $99.

With Android, there are hundreds of price points. You can get some free, some for $20, and even a few choices for $200+.

That's the big difference. Android OS is used on a huge variety of phones and so more people with cheap "smartphones" have Android. With Apple, there is no choice like that. They focus on quality and the best experience, regardless of price.

Just by pure market saturation Android should be the market leader...it's really a no brainer.

It would be nice if when someone gets banned, all the treads they started would get locked/closed.

It is very customizable and is better for EXTREMELY tech savvy people. iPhones are more for the people who like simplicity.

Not necessarily so. I count myself among the extremely tech savvy since I'm a developer / software engineer by trade. And I still prefer iOS to Android. And iPhone to Android OEMs' phones.

I don't think you have to be EXTREMELY tech savvy, but I do agree that you have to have an interest in "playing" with your phone in order to benefit from what Android has to offer. I am one of those people, but most of my friends - even some tech savvy ones - don't want to bother or assume it's beyond them. In general, Apple's "plug-and-play" approach will always be preferred by many smart phone consumers. My husband has little interest in understanding technology. I encouraged him to go Android because I really think a customized ui w/ certain widgets would help him work more efficiently. I set up his phone for him, but in the end, none of that meant anything to him. His next phone will be an iPhone. He works in a complex industry, but when it comes to technology, he only cares about the basics. That's why I think Android and Apple will coexist for some time, with Apple becoming a bit more customizable down the road.
