Default 10 Things iPhone Does Better Than Android

Ok well I understand where your coming from. I've had a lot of android devices and now I have an iPhone 5 and just my opinion it's the best phone I've personally ever owned. Android just didn't work out for me I didn't like how it wasn't consistent and also it sucked waiting for updates that never came

I don't ever wait for updates lol. I flash as soon as Google releases the source. That's another good thing Google gives u the right to update your own phone when u want to

Default 10 Things iPhone Does Better Than Android

I got bored of waiting for the ICS update for Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 so I flashed one, it messed up the battery meter and the thing was draining within 5 minutes, lol!

I love both OS's but iOS has never let me down. Android has some really cool features but the App Store lets it down for me, it seems so full of amateur stuff.

I also find the extra features in Android to be kinda superficial. Widgets never really interested me, I prefer a dedicated app for each service, and the home screen is just the thing which gets you between apps. Side loading apps is nice but there's not that much use for it if you don't pirate.

There's also the optimisation, I have a quad-core Nexus 7 and yet most of the big 3D games stutter and slow down on it and run and look better on my iPad mini, the specs of which are nothing in comparison to the N7.

Being a developer I have a tonne of devices and Android is amazing, truly amazing, but the features it offers over iOS aren't ones I personally ever find much use for so I choose the consistency of iOS and it's stronger apps for my everyday devices. I do love both but iOS' speed and simplicity win the day for me in the end.

I like the way Android tries to show customization, but the constant app crashes are what is annoying for some. Really.... If you going to release an application it better work with in the first 24 hrs or it will always get dumped.

Don't know what it is, but I have never had app crashes or even to force a app to close to get something working..

It's because, like with PCs, there are so many different configurations out there. iOS apps only need to be tested on iPhone and iPad, so they can check for crashes whilst Android is on a tonne of different phones with different processors and such so a developer can't make something which works perfectly on every device like they can with iOS.

I don't like the ARM cores android devices have. I know the new iOS processors are somewhat ARM based but they completely customized to run with iOS only , which then works out for iOS users and hence why iOS devices never crash. I'm not saying they literally never crash but you know what I mean, I can honestly say I've never had my iPhone just crash out of no where. It's happened plenty of time on my S3 and I have barely any apps and no music or videos on it. I still somewhat like my S3 I had fun with flashing ROM's but when it comes down to it I would never give up my iPhone , not only do I have a lot of money invested into iOS apps and iTunes music, I can't go without my native reminders app and calendar and notes. Plus iCloud is so much more user friendly than google , especially when restoring a device I can usually only get contacts back on an android device where iOS I can get everything from apps and music and contacts, to documents and website data exactly how it was before. It's like i never got a new device everything is right there as it was.

Well ya your right what I meant was that they rarely crash compared to android. Both OS have their highs and lows

But I'll rather deal with a couple reboots(even though mine hasn't done it since I bought it) than iTunes lol

When my iPhone 4 was stock it crashed with a reboot a total of two times. That is it. Jail broken it crashed a lot, but I expected that. On the iPhone 5, I have not had one crash with a reboot. I think iOS 6 is very solid compared to the 4.x I had on my 4 before jail breaking.

Default 10 Things iPhone Does Better Than Android

At the time when this topic was started in 2010, iOS was definitely way much better than android. But now, 2 years later, I experience android has been having a lot of improvements that I can no longer say iOS is better.

Not all android acts the same I like my droid 3 and bionic both to me have being handie. I usually turn off my device at night to charge my phone.

Android will is smooth if u force close the apps from setting after u done. I bearly get lag because I give my device break when I go to sleep i charge it off not on. Like many users do.

iPhone is alright I finally got one and I can say it force close on certain website on safari. But ,beside that i Never seen any force closing on any apps from my 3 weeks Experience On apps or preloaded apps. At time android can be choppy but it faster then iOS on website.

Some site on iOS is lacking due to flash or optimization example nba.com on iOS. Doesn't allow me to see content; like on android and other site also.

iOS is smoother ,better touch input or recognization on gestures but beside that and App Store gaming . Android beats iOS in every catagory expect gpu that iPhone 4S and 5 have. iPad 3 and 4.

Android usually don't get force close ,unless the developers didn't optimize the app I don't get force close on my droid bionic or 3 . Since droid 1 days..
That the last force close or htc device due to heavy user interface they call sense ui

Wait until u have a reboot or a screen hang when its an emergency ! U need a phone u can rely on . Not something with heaps of functions ( which u hardly ever use ! ) but unreliable like all Andriod based phones .
I have personally used Andriod phones for almost 2 years and now an iphone.
    To each his own.
I like the iphone. It does what u want it to do without hiccups. Maybe it's missing somethings from Andriod but rather live without them then live with reboots.

My husband insists on using an Android phone. He spends more time rebooting than using. And it's never available when he needs it. Last weekend he wanted to go get a smoothie because he had a Living Social deal. I drove. He searched his phone. We got to the smoothie place. He was still playing with his phone. I ordered. He was resetting. He ordered. Phone still resetting. Wound up paying full price because the phone was useless.

What Android phone does your husband have? I use a Rezound and have not experienced the kind of issues your husband is seeing. If he has to constantly reboot his phone there may be an issue with a downloaded program. I prefer Android for the customization aspects that are not offered on stock iOS.

I personally like iphones much more than androids as they are very user friendly and quite simple to use. Androids are a lot more confusing..

TL;DR. Resale value of my year-old 4S beats any Android of comparable age. Not that I'm going to sell this anytime soon.

So true Alli although I rarely had issues with reboots mine was with the atrocious battery life. I could barely get 2 hours of screen time before my battery died. When I had the thunderbolt it was even worse battery died in 10-12 hours with minimal use. So lame glad to be back with my iPhone.
