Date on status bar

Just wondering...The date on my status bar reads Wed Oct 30. Can it be changed to read Wed 30 Oct? Tried doing it in Date & Time Preferences, but no luck. Anyone know if this can be done? Thanks.

System Preferences>> Language & Region>> Advanced>> rearrange as desired...

Tried it. Didn't work. I must be missing a step.



UPDATE: Got it. You have to change the REGION to U.K. or Ireland, then change the money back to $, and the system from metric to U.S.
