Antivirus for Mac

Hello people!

I am a new user of Mac OS and I get the point of less viruses for Mac but i know the story is different with malware. I have been a windows user for many years and I'm not going to lie I feel lost sometimes.

I need a good antivirus, firewall, etc to protect my computer. Any ideas or recommendations?

I've heard good things about NOD32, but that's not free. A basic firewall is already included in OS X, and can be turned on in settings

Yes i found the firewall but how good is it? I guess it is basic but im still looking for something good.

There was another thread in the past few days about AV on macs. Everyone pretty much said it wasn't needed (including me). Especially not needed to run constantly in the background and if you feel the need to have it, just run something once a week/month or so.

Builtin firewall is fine. It only stops incoming requests. If you want something that notifies you of outgoing network usage, I'd recommend Little Snitch.
