Trackpad becoming slower in lock screen

Hi all

I just uninstalled Microsoft Office 2011 and after restarting during the uninstallation process I noticed my trackpad had become significantly slower in the lock screen. It returns to normal speed once logged in or after I resume from sleep. But, when starting the Mac after a shutdown or restart my trackpad becomes slow in the lock screen.

What is the problem here guys? Any ideas? Thanks.

It's a rare phenomenon then? And it's driving me nuts! So much so that I'm considering reinstalling Yosemite. But I hope it doesn't come to that and someone can shed some light.
