Default os x menubar lights for airport utility

I would like at the top of my mac screen between the clock and the wifi indicator something to shows the 2 dots for modem and router that the airport utility shows when you run the app.

seams like airport utility should have added a checkbox to show the indicators in the menu bar. any third party extensions / app out thee that would do this?

    Welcome to iMore!

One app you could check out that I use is iStat Menus 5. It allows you to monitor a lot more than your routers. I can virtually monitor everything going on with my computers. It shows the basics in the menu bar, but once you click on the icons it has a drop down menu to show you all the details of what you are monitoring. Full customization available.
