iPad charging.

I bought my wife an iPad last yr for Christmas. I have my Macbook Pro and iPhone 4s, so i don't really fool with her iPad much. I connected the iPad to my PC yesterday to update it to iOS 5. I looked at the iPad and in the top corner i saw "not charging". Will the iPad not charge when connected to a PC or Mac?

It will if the screen is off. It's because the USB port on the computer doesn't provide enough power to charge while the screen is on. It's why the iPad has a different charger than the iPod Touche and iPhone.
