Icloud, dropbox and movies on iPad

So, I have lots of movies on my laptop. My laptop isn't swtched on very often but like to stream videos via vlc streamer. This works fine when my laptop is on as the stream never stops mid way thru like most streaming websites do.

But is there a way of having all my videos stored in the cloud? Either in dropbox or the new icloud. And would they stream to my ipad as well as they do with vlc streamer? I just want an easy way to view my movies on my iPad without saving all my movies to my iPad and without the stream stop-starting constantly. Any help guys? Thanks

Home sharing when at home?? other than that, multiple full length movies are most likely too large of files for the cloud
