    Default Winmail.dat files in email

    Hi everyone,
    I have received an email with what was meant to be a pdf file. It came as a winmail.dat file.Is there anyway to be able to open it.Thanks in advance

    That usually indicates an error from Outlook on the part of the sender. Try having them re-send it to you.

    Often times the winmail.dat file is a result of the sender using rich text format for the e-mail and your smtp server not knowing what to do with it. Having the sender resend the e-mail using HTML usually takes care of the issue. If you still don't get the attachment you can try Winmaildat.com: Open winmail.dat attachments.. I cannot vouch for their integrity and what they do or do not do with your file after they extract it but it does work.
