    Thumbs up International Roaming

Hi everyone...I was wondering if anyone can give any advice on avoiding the exhorbidant AT&T International Roaming charges beside the obvious choice of turning off 3G and using wi-fi only when in Italy? If you have a suggestion that has worked for you please send the link. Thanks!

Settings -> General -> Network -> Data Roaming: OFF

That will ensure you do not use any data on your trip.

If you're on 3.1.2, you could jailbreak and unlock your device and buy a pre-paid SIM in Italy, but it's really not going to last long unless they have $1 a day pre-paid plans like we do here.

I didn't think Ipad was locked on AT&T. I will be in Prague in June and thought I could get a pre-paid sim card, even if I have to trim down to mini-sim size.
