I have a question regarding Ipad cases. I can't seem to find any good info on this.

I am looking for an Ipad case that is similar to the Apple one. I want a case that will protect the Ipad but also has a "stand" so that I can prop the Ipad up. The Apple one seems good to me--but they are currently out of stock at the local store. Plus, the $40 price tag seems steep.

Any third-party alternatives available yet that would fit my needs?

Thanks-

I've not seen many decent third party items, yet. But, I'm sure they are coming...

Did you watch the video on the one created by Apple?

I'd personally like one with a stand, but that will also work with the iPad Dock. I don't know, maybe that's too much to ask for.

I was looking at a number of third party cases for the Ipad, I was struck on how many of these cases were listed as "pre-orders". I would think these manufacturers would want to make sure their cases are available on day one. This would allow them to get a leg up on their competitors.

Pretty cool, though I'm not crazy about cutting up the case like that.

I can't believe Apple didn't take this into consideration when designing the thing. How hard would it have been for them to design it with a fold-away cut-out for the dock? Ridiculous.

iPad Case

I just received a Marware Eco-Flip case today after canceling my order for the Apple case due to bad reviews. So far, I'm very happy with it as it seems to provide good protection and can stand vertically or in a low horizontal position for typing. This still doesn't provide a landscape stand, which you get with Marware's Eco-Vue iPad case. There are some beautiful and pricey stands in the pipeline but I've been reading about low cost ones you can make or adapt from other products.

I'm interested in one that can replace my current notepad executive portfolio. If anyone has seen one let me know. I'd like for it to have pockets for business cards and pens as I've bought a capacitive stylus and plan on using my ipad for note taking at meetings.

I bought the Apple case to tide me over until I found a good third party design, and was surprised at how much I liked it. It feels durable and when it's closed it looks very discreet. I'd like more stand options, but the two it offers are pretty good.

I pre-ordered the Quirky Cloak, but am not sure I need it.

Anyone find a decent messenger bag to carry their iPad?

Stylus

How is the stylus working out for you? Are you con vetting handwritten notes to text?

How about a case for carry, stand and has some sort of hand loop on the back? I'm looking for a secure and less fatiguing way to hold the iPad while reading.

I think I'll order my iPad case from my mother again. She has already knitted my iPhone protector. I love the knitted cases for phones and devices, my mother really does a great job making them. They're simple but look nice and are much cheaper than the cases Apple is selling.
