Has anyone installed iOS 8 on their iPad Mini?

Turning on "reduce motion" helps a lot. I think the parallax effect was too much for the Mini's processor.

The 8.1 update threads say some devices are more snappy. Mostly phones but might be worth a shot. I will do mine tonight.

yeah...my Mini 1 does seem more snappy with 8.1. Not a ton, but enough that I feel like it is "back to normal".

I updated two days ago and love it.. This coming from having it jail broke. The only app that seems sluggish is Facebook. Everything else seems to run fine. There are things I do miss about my jailbreak, particularly the control panel, it I'm getting used to it. My 4s is and will stay on 7.0.6 and jail broke until the 8.1 jailbreak is released.

The original mini works quite well with 8.1, however, I still felt the need to turn on Reduce Transparency and Motion. It's also partly a visual preference, I liked the fade animation enough to turn it on my mini 2.

I installed iOS 8 to my original iPad mini and later installed 8.1.1. It is still noticeably slower, apps continuously crash, and web pages continue to crash in Safari. I tried several times doing a restore both from cloud backups and iTunes backups. Still no help. Any suggestions?

Yes, I went from 7 to 8.3. (On the ioriginal iPad mini)now I can't plug into my PC to synch.i was hoping it would be a smooth transition. call me a philistine, but I hate using the cloud.

I have iOS 8 installed on mine and it operates just fine. I notice decreases in performance if I have a few apps open in the background, but we have to consider it's an A5 processor.
