What will happen to the iPad mini when the iPad mini 2 is released?

Will it be

1. Discontinued?

2. Dropped in price? If so, to what?

3. Packaged in plastic and called the iPad mini C?

I hope for #2! I'd love to pick up another for even less

I think it will be dropped in price and believe it will still sell strongly. That's what I think we will just have to wait and see!

Imagine if they dropped the original mini to 199!!!!! That would destroy other tablets in that range. They will prob drop it 100 less then if is now

I hope so! This may be wishful thinking, but it would effectively crush anything else in that sized tablet market based on sheer brand power behind the name

I am pretty sure Apple will continue to sell the Mini 1 for about $100 less until supplies run out.

A few days after Mini 2 intro, the Apple store, Target, Walmart & BestBuys all have the older Mini at $299 and that seems to be the current low. It was at $329 typically, with refurbished at $279.

Except for Microcenter which has it at $279 new. I went to get an open box and they couldn't find them so gave me the new for the open box price of $239

Which I think is about as good a deal as I will see all year.
