Default First force close iPad Mini

So I just experienced my first force close on my iPad Mini. I just got the iPad on Christmas, I was playing a game last night and the app just force closed on me. Is it something to worry about? Is it a device malfunction or the app itself?

It's the app itself. No worries. If it keeps happening check reviews out and see if others having same issue.

Just the one, Fieldrunners 2 HD. None of my other apps have force closed. Interesting thought, when I looked at the diagnostics and usage it also lists Fruit Ninja as crashed. Not sure what that is about, I do not recall Fruit Ninja crashing on me.

Okay so I was on Facebook just a few minutes ago and safari closed on me. My original iPad did that quite often but it was 2 years old so it was sort of expected. Why would safari force close on me? Too much data to process? Any help/insight is much appreciated. I really don't want to have to replace this iPad. It would be such a hassle.

It is likely it has something to do with the lack of sufficient RAM. As I'm sure you know, the iPad Mini only has 512 MB of RAM, which isn't a heck of a lot. If this crashing is happening across multiple apps, it is almost certainly due to a lack of RAM.

So is this worth worrying about? It's only happened to two apps once each

Well, you can't do anything about the lack of RAM. It's nothing to worry about, so long as you manage your running apps more efficiently. You'll have to keep track of this more, because of the matter of the RAM.

I have to do this on my iPad 1, It's one of the reasons I'm struggling with the decision to get a mini or not.

How do I manage my running apps more efficiently? Do you mean like going into the app switcher and holding the icons and tapping the red minus button? I didn't think those apps were still open, I thought iOS managed them without us having to.

That's exactly what you have to do. Stop the more intensive games/apps when not using them, as they use a lot of RAM.

First and Formost.. The Mini having 512 Megs of Ram is NOT your issue.. So stop listening to that..

iOS6 does an excellent job of managing Ram I can have a dozen apps open ( including HD games ) and there is not an issue.. Has you unit updated to 6.0.2 ? If so, you may just have a faulty unit.. If you have the ability to exchange unit you may want to consider doing that.. another option would be, delete and re-download those apps that are causing the F-Closes.. I have a Black 16g and it has not had a single hiccup period.

I wasn't 100% sure, so if you say so then that's cool. However, the 6.0.2 update only fixes Wi-Fi issues ( http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1621) so I can't see what good that would do.

The apps in question are a game and then safari, it only happened once with safari and twice with the game. Not sure what to do.

Okay so I just had another force close with Safari. It has only happened when I am using Facebook in Safari. What could be the issue and what should I do?

A suggestion i have for you is to 1) go into the settings/.safari and clear history/cache etc. then 2) settings/safari/advanced/website data - go into there and clear that out as well. 3) and then maybe do a reboot (hold home button and sleep button together till you see the white apple- then let go) I have an iPad 1st gen, and sometimes when theres alot of things to load with pics, it'll close on me. I do what i suggested to you, and that seems to clear it up.

Real football force closes once in a while. The problem is that once it crashes, there is no way to reopen the app. It just keeps crashing. The only solution is to restart the device. Anyone else facing this problem with other apps?

I have recently experienced force closes with News Republic. Not sure what the issue is as I have all recently used apps closed out. Memory does not seem to be the issue. I have deleted and re installed the app with the same results. Anyone else having issues with this app?

I have had this happen w/ Safari - usually when I have many apps open. Mostly (but not exclusively) when using FB in Safari.

This is the application itself. Do not worry. If this happens all the time to check the reviews and see if others have the same question.
