I recently got back into collecting comics last November when I heard about the death of Wolverine. He is one of my favorite XMen characters so when I heard that I searched out the comics and got the 4 issue series. It jump started my love of comics and I've been collecting since then. I'm mainly a Marvel guy becasue I was only exposed to DC just last year so I'm not as familiar. I collect both but the main portion of my collection is Marvel. I've got two short boxes and 5 slabs so far. It's a mixture of modern and silver, bronze and golden age. I mostly collect modern now but I search out and buy older comics when I can find them at a price I can afford. There are a few prized possessions in my collection. I've got first Apocalypse, slabbed first Jubilee and first Rogue in the XMen. I've got some Famous Funnies books from the 30s and 40s which are thought to be pretty much the very first comic books. One of the really fun things I've been doing lately is to try and collect all the first appearances of the different types of Kryptonite in comics. I've got about half of them but a few issues are definitely going to be very hard to get. They are pretty expensive since they are first appearances of characters like Supergirl etc. I get digital copies of all my copies because what is the point of collecting them if you don't read the story and enjoy the art.
Anyone else into comics? collector? reader?

Re: Comic lovers
I just saw this post...I am a comic book nerd and have been since childhood. Most of my collection is in storage collecting dust, but I still buy comics now and then (Walking Dead most of the time now days). I was actually going through my collection and found a nice Dead Pool #1 with the raised letter cover that I pulled out and had graded (scored a 9.8!). Did it because with the new movie coming soon, that thing is going to really raise in value, and I always liked the cover it has.
