    Outside: 90 degrees
    Inside: a refreshing 67 degree

    Thank God for air conditioning!!

I grew up in Indiana... many days of temps in mid-90s with 80-90% humidity.

And re: dry heat: so is my oven - the chicken still gets cooked.

Fausty, I just got back from our annual family vacation - this year in Las Vegas. It was 105-108 everyday but was a "dry heat." Your oven/chicken analogy is perfect! I felt like a hairdryer was being blown in my face every time I went outdoors. That, plus the terrible nose bleeds I had all week (from the heat/dryness), makes me hope our family picks a slightly "moister" place next year.

Living in Indiana too. Tried to play golf yesterday in the middle of the corn fields where the course is located....101 degrees !!! Lasted 6 holes. These temps have been going on now for over 10 days and no rain. Can't even hear the corn growing at night because of the heat. Have to play in a tournament on Saturday and it is supposed to be 101 degrees. Should be interesting.

That is the only good thing about the heat is my grass is dead. While my neighbors are frantically watering their lawns day in and day out, I'll be waving from my air conditioned living room while they're out in the heat mowing their lawns and I'm not.

    Meanwhile...in the Corn Patch...

    Today's high? 103.

My cement yard NEVER needs to be mowed! I do have some nice rose bushes though in a tiny little box garden. Here they are.....

This is what they looked like before we started tending them! (ok I admit my girlfriend does MOST of the tending)......

    Only 95 today....102 tomorrow...103 Saturday...

I'm pretty convinced this is hell on earth. Not only has it been this hot for over 8 straight days but the humidity is UNREAL. Hell. Complete hell.

I do feel bad for those that are having unusually hot weather, out here in the California Desert we are colder than normal. Normally we are in the 100-110 degrees (with some days knocking on 120 degrees) but it's been almost artic at just 85-95 degrees each day for the past 5 days and will only get warm again around about Monday.

Again, sorry for those that are suffering in weather that is not the 'normal' for them.
